David Morgan

Dave Morgan is the principal consultant for Morgan Privacy Consulting. Unlike many privacy professionals who provide advice with a large dose of discouragement and legalese, Dave’s guidance is enabling and practical. His disarming communication style helps break down barriers, allowing him to better understand his client’s needs. A scientist by education, Dave has experience in technology, healthcare, research ethics, government and the community sector.

Dave is an active contributor to the privacy community, having authored articles, spoken at conferences and served on professional advisory boards. While working in health IT, he co-chaired the Canada Health Infoway pan-Canadian Health Information Privacy Group which won the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Privacy Innovation Award in 2014 for its work on common understandings of privacy in digital health. Most recently, Dave chaired the statutory review of the Newfoundland & Labrador Personal Health Information Act.
